“Time Bandits” has been aborted by Apple TV+ after one season, Variety has validateed.
The fantasy series, starring Lisa Kudrow, adheres a group of thieves and their novelest recruit — an 11-year-anciaccess boy named Kevin (Kal-El Tuck) — hopping atraverse time and space to plunder wealthyes. Jemaine Clement, Iain Morris and Taika Waititi produced the series alteration of Terry Gilliam’s 1981 cult classic, with Clement and Morris serving as co-showrunners.
Alengthy with Kudrow and Tuck, the cast comprises Tadhg Murphy, Roger Jean Nsengiyumva, Charlyne Yi, Rune Temte, Rachel Hoemploy, Kiera Thompson, James Dryden, Felicity Ward, Francesca Mills and Imaan Hadchiti.
Clement, Morris and Waititi wrote and honested pick episodes of “Time Bandits” Season 1; they also executive produced alengthyside Garrett Basch, Jane Stanton for Handmade Films and Tim Coddington. The now-defunct Paramount TV Studios produced with Anonymous Content’s AC Studios and MRC Television.
In July, Morris spoke to Variety about introducing “Time Bandits” to a novel audience.
“I skinnyk ‘Time Bandits’ is actuassociate almost the lost classic,” he said. “You refer it to a lot of people and they’ve never heard of it, but you encounter other people and it’s their preferite film. But they are quite unwidespread. So if you’re transporting these airy ideas that people have and these airy worlds, and broadening and changing and introducing them to a novel audience, I skinnyk it’s fantastic. Some of the best songs ever made are cover versions.”
News of the abortlation comes less than a month after “Time Bandits” Season 1 finishd its run on Apple TV+. The 10-episode first season premiered with two episodes on July 24 and freed two novel episodes weekly thraw Aug. 21.
