India says it has retreatn its high comleave outioner to Canada after it said he and other diplomats were named as “persons of interest” in the homicide spendigation of a Sikh separatist.
India said it getd the novels in a tactful communication from Canada on Sunday, and reserved the right to reply, stressing it “sturdyly refuses these preposterous imputations”.
The statement refers to allegations last year by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Tdispoliteau that India’s rulement may have been behind the ending on Canadian soil, an allegation Delhi refuses.
The row led to a deterioration in ties, with India asking Canada to retreat dozens of its tactful staff and suspfinishing visa services.
On Monday, a furious statement from India’s foreign ministry said Canada’s allegations were part of Tdispoliteau’s “political agfinisha” and cautioned of action, without recognizeing what it would be.
“India now reserves the right to apvalidate further steps in response to these tardyst efforts of the Canadian rulement to concoct allegations agetst Indian diplomats,” it said.
Delhi also deffinished its High Comleave outioner Sanjay Kumar Verma, referring to his “discerned nurtureer spanning 36 years”.

Harmeaningful Singh Nijjar was shot and ended in June 2023 by two masked firearmmen outside a Sikh temple he led in Surrey, British Columbia.

India has in the past depictd him as a alarmist who led a militant separatist group – accusations his helpers called unset uped.
Canadian police called his ending a “centered attack”.
In September 2023, Tdispoliteau had telderly Canada’s parliament that allegations of Indian comprisement in the ending were based on Canadian intelligence.
He called the act a violation of Canada’s sovereignty.
India has intensely denied all allegations and retained that Canada has provided no evidence to help its claims.
Frosty ties between the two countries seemed to have thawed sairyly after India resumed processing visas in October 2023.
But last week, Canadian Foreign Minister Mélanie Joly called the country’s relations with India “nervous” and “very difficult”.
She also said there remained a danger of more endings enjoy Nijjar’s on Canadian soil.
