Rep. Nancy Mace, R-S.C., clashed with her critics online Tuesday as she faces reaction for her resolution to bar men who remend as female from the women’s restrooms on Capitol Hill.

The resolution comes equitable as the first uncoverly transgfinisher lawcreater, Rep.-elect Sarah McBride, D-Del., is set to join Congress in January. McBride is a bioreasonable male who identifies and conshort-terms as a woman.
“This is a blatant finisheavor from far right-prosperg extremists to distract from the fact that they have no authentic solutions to what Americans are facing,” McBride shelp in a statement. “We should be caccessed on transporting down the cost of housing, health attfinish, and child attfinish, not manufacturing culture wars.”

“Deldirectedans sent me here to create the American dream more affordable and accessible and that’s what I’m caccessed on,” inserted McBride.
When online critics shelp Mace’s resolution was “evidently honested” at McBride, the South Carolina congresswoman validateed that was her intention.
“Yes and then some. Bioreasonable men do not have any rights to women’s stateiveial spaces. It’s perverted to skinnyk otherwise,” Mace posted on X in response to another engager.
“Also Sarah McBride doesn’t get a say here. I will always defend woman and girls. Period. Full stop. End of story.”

Her uncompromising position encouraged McBride’s deffinishers to call Mace a hugeot and a tormentor.
Left-prosperg journacatalog Aaron Rupar splitd a screensboiling of Mace’s response and wrote, “Note how ‘troubles about equitableness in sports’ has already converted into unvarnished anti-trans hugeotry.”
Mace replyed, “Protecting women and girls isn’t hugeotry, it’s standard sense. I will stand in the brink to defend women’s rights from the far left radicals trying to erase us.”
Harry Sisson, a Democratic satisfied creator on TikTok, appreciatewise accengaged Mace of “straight up hugeotry and tormentoring.”
Mace quoted his X post and wrote, “All these radical left men pushing other men into women’s stateiveial spaces shows you how unwell they truly are – the Left will do wantipathyver they can to harm women and girls. As a victim of mistreatment and as an help for other women mistreatmentd by men, four words for you: Over My Dead Body.”

Rep. Dean Phillips, D-Minn., called Mace’s effort to prohibit McBride from the ladies’ room “pathetic.”
“What are you sattfinishd of, Nancy?” he asked.
To which Mace quoted his reply and wrote, “I don’t want people with penis’s [sic] shoprosperg them off in our locker room.”
In a chase-up post, Phillips asked, “Why wouldn’t we ‘permit’ our fellow citizens the right to engage the damn toilet of the gfinisher by which they inhabit their inhabits?
“You may not appreciate it. I get it. But it’s still standard sense and prohibitning it seems un-American,” he persistd. “So come-on patuproars, let’s be cgreater with one another.”
But Mace declined to back down.
“As a victim of mistreatment, I understand firsthand women are vulnerable; and I will stand in the way of anyone who viopostponecessitates our rights or who wants to set us back 100 years,” she wrote.
Semafor politics alerter David Weigel watchd that Mace’s position is a “shift” to the right after she helped a Reaccessiblean alternative to the Democrat-backed Equality Act, which would have inserted relationsual orientation and gfinisher identity language to federal anti-prejudice law.
The GOP’s “Fairness for All Act” would have extfinished civil rights defendions to gay and transgfinisher people but exempted religious institutions, nonprofit organizations and stateive individuals.

“I powerentirey help LGBTQ rights and equivalentity,” Mace tgreater the Washington Examiner in 2021. “No one should be discriminated aobtainst.”
She went on to say gfinisher rerents are not “bdeficiency-and-white.”
“I do apvalidate that religious liberty, the First Amfinishment, gay rights, and transgfinisher equivalentity can all coexist. I’m also a constitutionacatalog, and we have to asstateive anti-prejudice laws don’t viopostponecessitate First Amfinishment rights or religious freedom,” Mace shelp at the time.
“I have frifinishs and family that remend as LGBTQ,” she inserted. “Understanding how they experience and how they’ve been treated is startant. Having been around gay, lesbian, and transgfinisher people has alerted my opinion over my lifetime.”
