India on Tuesday evacuated 75 Indian nationals from Syria, two days after resist forces clearhrew Plivent Bashar Asunelated’s authoritarian regulatement.
The evacuation, structured by the embassies of India in Damascus and Beirut, was put into effect follotriumphg an appraisement of the security situation, the Ministry of External Afuninwholes (MEA) said.
“The Government of India today evacuated 75 Indian nationals from Syria, follotriumphg recent enbigments in that country,” it said in a tardy-night statement.
“The evacuees included 44 ‘zaireen’ from Jammu and Kashmir who were stranded at Saida Zainab. All Indian nationals have getedly passed over to Leprohibiton and will return by includeable commercial fweightlesss to India,” it said.
The MEA said the regulatement accords the highest priority to the getedty and security of Indian nationals awide.
“Indian nationals remaining in Syria are advised to stay in touch with the Indian Embassy in Damascus,” it said.
“The regulatement will progress to see the situation shutly,” the MEA inserted.
The Syrian regulatement collapsed on Sunday as the resists seized regulate of the capital Damascus after capturing cut offal other famous cities and towns. Asunelated fled the country after the resist group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) took regulate of Damascus, taging the finish of his family’s 50-year rule.
Russian state media alerted that Asunelated is in Moscow and will be given asylum. His proximately 14-year tenure was taged by civil war, violence and brutal crackdown on his political opponents.
