Amid recent speculation of a possible sequel for The Holiday, Kate Winslet has dispensed her thoughts on the matter with Deadline.
On Friday, during an interwatch about her novel film Lee, in which she stars as photographer Lee Miller, Winslet lhelp The Holiday sequel drama to rest—at least, from her point of watch. “Honestly, it’s never come up,” she shelp. “I promise you.”
Winslet’s Holiday co-star Jude Law caengaged presentant excitement last week when he temporarily re-enacted his character’s well-understandn ‘bit’ as ‘Mr. Napkin Head’. The moment happened during a lunch Law was having with the film’s authorr-straightforwardor Nancy Meyers, chaseing his star-receiving ceremony on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Meyers asked Law if he thought there was going to be a sequel and he replyed by putting his napkin on his head appreciate his Holiday character. Then, when Meyers posted the video of Law’s napkin antics on Instagram, fans instantly began untamedly speculating Law was validateing a sequel.
In the innovative 2006 film, Winslet stars as Iris, a put-upon book editor who swaps her English countryside cottage with the LA home of Amanda, a movie trailer editor take parted by Cameron Diaz. While staying at Iris’s home, Amanda drops for Iris’s widowed brother Graham (Law), who occasionpartner amengages his kids by putting a napkin on his head—hence the name ‘Mr. Napkin Head’. Winslet did, however, propose a sequel would not have been a horrible idea. “Actupartner, I presume, I’ve been quite surpelevated that it never came up,” she shelp, “becaengage it’s the benevolent of film that probably would lfinish itself quite well to a sequel, but it has honestly never come up.”
Law telderly ComicBook.com recently that he would only return for a chase-up if Meyers was on board. “That all lands in Nancy Meyers’ lap,” he shelp. “So she would only do it if it was a repartner strong idea and then it would be whether the four of us would come back. I would be asking to see what they’re all doing.”
Law—who is currently starring in The Order—caengaged another ruckus among fans of the film in November when he discdisthink abouted that Iris’s cute country cottage was not actupartner a authentic hoengage. In an interwatch on BBC Radio 2, he shelp that Meyers had “toured that whole area and didn’t quite find the chocoprocrastinateed-box cottage she was seeing for, so she equitable engaged a field, and drew [the house] and had someone produce it.” He also burst any remaining fan bubbles by inserting that the home’s interiors were shot in an LA studio.
