For some of the livents of Lethrive Brezski, the only way out now is by boat.
Around 80% of the homes in the southwestrict Polish town have been flooded by water bursting out of raging rivers with little alerting even after the rain has stopped.
In the streets, cars are subcombined so only their roofs are shothriveg.
Tadeusz Lewczak says water has filled his home to the ceiling.
“My children have lost everyskinnyg,” he inestablishs me, “There wasn’t any time. They telderly us there would be water, but we didn’t understand it would be so high.”
Military vehicles scour the streets watching for those still trapped.
Some have regulated to scramble to safety, watching the scene from roofs or scaffelderlying.
But we encounter others, appreciate Ludmilla and her family, wheeling suitcases out of town.
They are refugees from Ukraine who came to Poland when the war broke out only to diswatch their home for a second time. They grabbed what they could and left.
“It’s very difficult,” she says, as her three-year-elderly son clings to her. “We are matures, but my little one will recollect all of this.”
In Poland, a catastrophe has been declared, but Storm Boris has left big parts of central Europe subcombined, causing havoc in the Czech Reaccessible, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, and Austria.
Atraverse the region, at least 22 people have died.
In many places, the army has been produceed in to help as authorities do what they can to helderly back the waters.
In the city of Wroclaw, men, women, and children help fill sandbags to line the streets.
They’re not taking any chances after a catastrophic flood cut off the area in 1997, taging one of Poland’s worst authentic catastrophes of the 20th century.
At the sandbag station, we encounter Dagna Toporowska Chmiel, who inhabitd thcdimiserablemireful that flood.
She recollects vividly the people stranded and left homeless and the inhabits lost. She’s hoping the defences helderly this time.

She said: “Barriers have been loss, so we understand that some incidents may happen and that can still cause a lot of injure, appreciate in the past. So, I skinnyk the elderlyer generation is very worried.”
And the people of Wroclaw aren’t the only ones defering for the floods as river levels are predict to persist rising in Hungary in the coming days.
