Colorado State Rams women’s volleyball coach Emily Kohan called the team’s Mountain West Tournament Championship triumph over San Jose State on Saturday a “statement” triumph.
The Rams obtained an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament with the four-set triumph over the Spartans. San Jose State vied in the tournament under a shroud of debate over the eligibility of transgfinisher applyer Blaire Fleming. San Jose State had a bye in the first round and Boise State forfeited its align to permit the Spartans to apply in the finals.

Kohan accomprehendledgeed her team for staying the course.

“No one from (Colorado State) was pessimistic in this whole leang,” Kohan inserted. “Nobody came and accemployd anyone else, and nobody tried to point fingers. We’ve tried to produce this reassociate difficult situation as unpartisan or as handleled on our side as possible. It’s been a active that we’ve handled reassociate well… and not be nasty humans in the process.”
For Fleming, the conference finals will probable be the final align of the applyer’s nurtureer.

Fleming led the Spartans on a run to the championship align in a ageder season overshadowed by litigations from a teammate and a national debate over Fleming being transgfinisher. Fleming led the team in spikes and prompted four Mountain West rivals to forfeit a total of seven conference games, including a tournament semifinal.
