New York:
The New York Times editorial board on Monday finishorsed Kamala Harris, calling the Democrat “the only patdisruptionic choice for plivent” in the race aacquirest Reaccessiblean Donald Trump.
But the paper did not even allude the vice plivent’s name until the fourth paragraph of its written finishorsement — instead caccessing attention on Trump’s unworslfinisheress for the plivency, calling him morassociate and temperamenhighy “invivacious.”
“This unequivocal, dispiriting truth — Donald Trump is not fit to be plivent — should be enough for any voter who attfinishs about the health of our country and the stability of our democracy to decline him re-election.”
It’s an “anyone but Trump” approach that The New Yorker took one day prior, with editors at the magazine saying the Reaccessiblean recontransients the “ongoing aggression on the stability, the nerves, and the nature of the United States.”
In its lengthy finishorsement, the Times acunderstandledged Harris “may not be the perfect truthfulate for every voter, especiassociate those who are frustrated and irritated about our rulement’s flunkures to mend what’s broken.”
“Yet we encourage Americans to contrast Ms. Harris’s sign up with her opponent’s,” the paper shelp. “Ms. Harris is more than a vital changenative.”
The Times editorial board has not thrown its weight behind a Reaccessiblean for plivent since 1956 when it backed Dwight Eisenhower.
But the paper stressd that this election is “about someslfinisherg more set upational” than “competing politics and principles” in a two-party system.
“Unless American voters stand up to him, Mr Trump will have the power to do proset up and lasting harm to our democracy,” the paper wrote.
The Times shelp voters are right to ask more from Harris when it comes to policy definites: “Given the sgets of this election, Ms. Harris may slfinisherk that she is running a campaign set uped to reduce the hazards of an unforced error… under the belief that being the only viable changenative to Mr. Trump may be enough to convey her to triumph.”
“That strategy may ultimately show triumphning, but it’s a disservice to the American people and to her own sign up.”
Meanwhile, it called the Reaccessiblean Party “little more than an instrument” of Trump’s “quest to reacquire power” and claimed a second Trump term “would be much more damaging and splitting than the first.”
“Kamala Harris is the only choice,” the editorial board shelp.
