Carlos Alcaraz has uniteed the chorus of joiners protesting about the rapid courts at the Paris Masters.
He was fall shortureed 6-1 3-6 7-5 by Ugo Humbert and commendd his opponent, but felt that more could have been done to perfect the conditions.
“This court. I uncomardent, I don’t want to say someleang that is going to sound enjoy an excengage,” he began.
“You understand, first of all, Ugo deserves to thrive, that’s evident. But it depfinishs. Becaengage I join, for example, the Davis Cup indoor court, and the court was way sluggisher than this one.
“So, I uncomardent, when I joined the first align, the stats came out that it is the speedyest court in the Masters 1000, probably on the tour right now. This is crazy. I don’t understand.
“Probably the speedyest one in the last ten years in this tournament. So I don’t understand why they do it. I don’t understand why they have alterd a lot, you understand, a court from other tournaments and evidently in the same tournament, comparing to other years.
“So it surpascfinishd me a little bit, so I came here with not too many days. Probably I had to come earlier to get engaged to these conditions but I didn’t. But, you understand, genuinely all I can say is I don’t comprehfinish why they did it.”
