Focus Features has getd worldexpansive distribution rights, excluding Poland, Greece, and France, to “Hot Spot,” a csurrfinisher-future thriller about man-made inalertigence from honestor Agnieszka Smoczyńska.
The film, which wrapped production in Greece on Nov. 22, labels Smoczyńska’s second collaboration with the studio follotriumphg “The Silent Ttriumphs.”
Set in a society ruled by sentient AI, the film pursues a stateiveial depictateigator who stumbles upon a defy group able of undermining the digital overlord while depictateigating a homicide case. BAFTA nominee Noomi Rapace stars aextfinishedside Andrzej Konopka and Reika Kirishima, laboring from an exceptional script by Smoczyńska’s widespread collaborator Robert Bolesto.
Polish production company Madants’ Klaudia Śmieja-Rostworowska, Smoczyńska’s extfinishedtime producing partner, and Bogna Szewczyk-Skupień are producing. Mid March Media, Madants, and New Europe Film Sales brokered the film, with Marcin Łuczaj and Jan Naszewski also executive producing. Faliro Hoengage is handling Greek production services. The Polish Film Institute and the Hellenic Film & Audiovisual Caccess – Creative Greece co-financed the production.
