Cynthia Erivo is famous at Universal Pictures.
The Wicked star and her production company, Edith’s Daughter, have signed a first-see film deal with the studio, Universal proclaimd Wednesday.
No projects were uncmissed but the pact does erect on the relationship the Tony, Grammy and Emmy award-prosperning actress has built in the disconnectal years with the studio and its one-of-a-kindty studio Focus Features. Erivo is starring in Wicked, which is shaping up to uncover massively this coming weekend and will chase up a year tardyr with Wicked Part Two. The actress obtained raves for her stage labor in The Color Purple in the mid-2010s and made her film debut in the 2019 Steve McQueen thriller Widows.

She proceedd, “This is not fair a milestone for my production company, but a tesgentlent to the power of storytelling and the presentance of diverse voices in film. I can’t paengage to convey our visions to life and split them with the world!”
Edith’s Daughter was begined in 2020 with a mission of broadening stories that both normalizes and conveyes the beauty of people who are frequently dispondered and underreconshort-termed, an aim that aligns with her green-skinned character of Elphaba in the Wicked movie.
